User Data Deletion Instructions
1. Overview
Project Aegis provides social media moderation and analytics services to organisations that connect their Facebook and/or Instagram Pages to our platform via Meta’s APIs and webhooks.
If you are a Facebook or Instagram user and would like to request deletion of data associated with your account that may have been processed by Project Aegis, please follow the instructions below.
2. What Data We May Process
When an organisation connects its Page to Project Aegis, we may receive and store:
Public comments posted on that Page
Public display name
Public username or profile handle
Comment timestamps
Interaction metadata (comment ID, post ID)
We do not collect private profile information beyond what is made available via Meta’s APIs and permissions granted by the Page administrator.
3. How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: Contact the Page Administrator
Because Project Aegis processes data on behalf of the organisation that owns the connected Page, the fastest way to request deletion is to contact the Page owner directly and request removal of your comment or associated data.
Once the Page administrator deletes content on Facebook or Instagram, it will no longer be accessible via Project Aegis.
Option 2: Direct Deletion Request to Project Aegis
If you wish to submit a deletion request directly to us, please email:
[Insert Contact Email]
Include the following information:
Your Facebook or Instagram display name
The Page name where you posted the comment
The approximate date of your comment
A link to the comment (if available)
We will:
Verify the request
Locate associated records in our systems
Delete stored comment and metadata (unless required for legal or compliance purposes)
Confirm deletion via email
Deletion requests will be processed within 30 days.
4. Automatic Data Removal
If an organisation disconnects its Facebook or Instagram account from Project Aegis, associated access tokens are revoked.
Stored comment data may be retained for operational, compliance, or audit purposes unless deletion is requested.
5. Data Retention Limitations
We may retain limited records where required by:
Legal obligations
Compliance requirements
Fraud or abuse prevention
However, we will not retain unnecessary personal data beyond operational need.
6. Meta Data Deletion Callback (Technical Compliance)
If Meta sends a user data deletion callback request to our systems, we will:
Verify the request
Remove associated stored user data
Return confirmation to Meta as required under Meta’s Platform Policies
